Mobile Marketing for Fairs and Shows

Hey welcome to Resort Marketing Vids. Today we start talking about a subject that’s very close to me.

In fact, I’ve spent literally, Hundreds of hours the last six months working to both study as much as I can on this material, and more importantly, develop systems for it.

What I’m talking about is Mobile Marketing, and more specifically, mobile marketing for tradeshows. I’ve set up a little magic trick for you below to demonstrate the power of this new medium. Enter your information into the box and watch what happens. I think you’ll be really excited.

Harnessing mobile technology, you now have the power to capture a lead at a show, and follow up with them instantly, AND…automatically.

Imagine this, you’re having a contest – giving something away at the show – and that’s how you get people in to your booth. That’s how most of us do it anyway. Well, instead of having the people come by and enter your contest by filling out those old lead slips, they enter digitally, using either their mobile phone, or a terminal you have set up at the booth.

Now, notice I said Mobile phone and not Smart phone. Anybody can do this with any cell phone. Once they sign up you immediately have their name, email address, personal cell phone number, and even home address and home phone number if you want it, emailed directly to your call center, or marketing manager! How powerful is that?

And as soon as they submit their entry into your contest the system automatically sends them a text message response, from you, confirming their entry. It’s all about the speed of follow up right? The faster you can make personal contact the better, right?

Well, it gets better. How much time gets wasted while your team has to sort and qualify all the leads? This technology can do it For you. Presorted, prequalified leads. You can even program the system to shoot off an email to them an hour or two after they’ve entered, you know, give them just enough time to get home from the show they were just at. In the email you confirm their contact information, give them a link to change it if anything is wrong, and invite them to check out your website, or Facebook page.

I use a company called Instant Customer. This is by no means an endorsement for them, there are plenty of mobile marketing providers out there. All you need to do is a quick Google search and you’ll see what I mean. But I’ve researched all of them and worked with a couple of them, and IC is still my favorite, they’ve just got a more robust system that happens to be tailored to our business in the resort world.

There’s so much you can do with mobile marketing. But the greatest benefit that often gets overlooked by people first looking at this new technology, wowed by all the bells and whistles, is the phone number.  It’s such a simple thing, I know. But how many times, over the years, have you had  someone write in a bogus phone number on their lead slip? Hundreds. You’ve probably lost count am I right?

By having people submit their information to you via their own mobile phone you automatically have a number that you know is a direct line to them. That’s gold right there.

But the possibilities are endless with this. And every day we’re coming up with new ways to use this for marketing purposes all over the resort. In fact, when you tune in next week I’ll show you a few other really cool ways to use mobile marketing to increase tour show rates, sales conversions and other neat tricks.

In the mean time, set up a demo account, or a trial account with a mobile marketing company and play with the tools.  And take a crack at the magic trick below, I really think you’ll get a kick out of it. Anyway, that’s all until next week. I’ll see you later.
